Getting Organized for Life with 2 Kids & Emily Ley’s Simplified Planner

Thank-you, Emily Ley, for sponsoring this post.

My favorite thing about the 3rd trimester? Nesting. That almost unheard of energy for organizing, cleaning, and simplifying our life and home before baby arrives. I may not have the energy to stroll through Target at the moment or chase Brody at the park, but clean out the pantry? Plan ahead for the next few months? Or finally put away the laundry from the past season? Sign me up!

Prepping Our Bedroom for Co-Sleeping with A Newborn

Our little girl’s nursery may still look like the inside of a storage unit, but her space for the first few months of her life is ready! We have spent the past couple of weeks prepping our bedroom to welcome a newborn once again. It is starting to feel real that she will be here sometime in the next month or so—although at this point, I might be okay if she decides to arrive late like her brother.

Here are 5 ways we are prepping our bedroom for co-sleeping with our newborn.

5 Iron-Rich Recipes For Homemade Baby Food

I promise, I’m done. After these homemade baby food recipes and five day meal plan – you won’t hear another peep from me about iron. Why it matters. Or how to best boost your baby’s absorption of this uber important brain-building mineral. At least, not for a few hours…

Iron and its buddy zinc aren’t the only nutrients for baby that I obsessed over. There’s also vitamin D and long-chain omega 3 fats. If you want to get real, part of my obsession has to do with the fear that many mamas have around giving their babies meat.

Like, how do you even cook it?

12 Things I Learned from Potty Training + My Favorite Potty Training Gear

Potty training. These two words evoked fear in my mind. I envisioned tantrums, major messes, and stressful days ahead when we decided to venture into the world of potty training a few weeks before Brody turned 2. Much to my surprise, the whole process was smooth, un-stressful, quick, and dare I even say fun for Brody?

Peach Picking + Weekend Favorites

Happy weekend, sweet mommas! We ventured out to Schnepf Farms for their annual Peach Festival this morning. This is Brody's 3rd year going and it has been so fun to see how he has changed over the years (look at how tiny he was last year). The peach festival has become my favorite Mother's Day weekend tradition.

A visit to the peach festival isn't complete without a huge, homemade peach cinnamon roll and a juicy peach fresh off of the tree. I am excited to have two little ones with us next Spring when we return for peach picking.
