Turning A Bedroom Closet Into A LEGO Closet

One of my 6-year olds favorite toys are LEGOs. Having 3 uncles and being the first nephew in our family—he has inherited quite the collection of LEGOs—-both old and new. I love watching his imagination as he creates his own scenes, but if I am being totally honest, I despise walking into his room and seeing tiny pieces of LEGOs absolutely everywhere.

We are long overdue for some LEGO organization! Our plan is to take his closet and transform it into a workspace for his LEGOs. We’re hoping it will be a place he can store them, display them and create them.

Here’s what we are working with.

We are going to build in a desk, add some shelving on the sides and use rolling carts for storing all of the little LEGO blocks.

I have been so inspired by this screenshot I took of @monikahibbs little boy’s room (if you don’t follow her, she’s one of my favs). I’m using it as a starting point for the vibe of the closet. I want it to be a space that will grow with him through the years.

And here’s the design board for his closet. Stay tuned as we start to tackle this—I can’t wait!
