Our Christmas Card Reveal--Hooray!

This post is sponsored by Minted. Thank-you for supporting the sponsors that help keep Momma Society going. :)

‘Tis the season when checking the mail becomes the most exciting part of the day! I love Christmas cards. I can remember writing them to my friends way back in middle school and my love of holiday stationary has only grown since then. Now that I have a family of my own I enjoy it even more.

With college friends in the South, family in the Northeast, and local friends spread around town—holiday cards are my favorite way to send a little holiday cheer their way.

We have used Minted for our holiday card every year since starting our Family. Our first year, we took our own family photos, last year we got festive for the pictures, and this year my friend Dana (who also took my birth photos and milk bath maternity photos) snapped pictures of us in a beautiful field of pecan trees. Life has been so busy since becoming a family of 4 that we have hardly snapped any family pictures of us all together. The holidays were the perfect excuse for us to capture this stage of our life.

Last year I picked out our Christmas card design before picking out our outfits. It was a great way to make sure that our pictures would flow with the card design I loved most. This year, we took on the same strategy. I spent an evening browsing through Holiday Cards and when I came across this botanical design I knew it was perfect. Not too Christmasy—a little untraditional, but beautiful and classic.

After picking the perfect card, it was time to figure out outfits. Dana, the photographer mentioned dressing two of us in solids and two of us in prints. This seemed like a great strategy when I was overwhelmed with the outfit choices in our closets. I wanted to use as many outfit pieces that we already had on hand that I could. Gingham, polka dots and stripes are hands down my three favorite prints, so I wanted to incorporate these as my prints.

JD wore a black & white Gingham button up with jeans. Brody wore a crisp oxford shirt with a classic black and white bow tie—nothing cuter than little toddlers in bow ties. His little Piper and Finn oxford shoes finished off his outfit. Isla and I were the pops of color. When I saw this green and white polka dot dress on Zara’s website after Isla was born—I knew it would make the perfect First Christmas dress. She will be wearing it on Christmas Eve as well! This has been the year of blush for me—rebranded Momma Society with more pink, added blush to our master bedroom, decked out Isla’s nursery with blush accents etc. So it only seemed fitting that I wore blush for our pictures.

When we got our pictures back, picking out a favorite was tough, so we decided to put one on the front and one on the back. I typed up a little message to our friends and family to include on the back and ta-da we were finished!

One of my favorite things about Minted cards is that they come with Free Address Printing—and they even coordinate the design to match with the cards. This is a major time saver for me. I store all of our friends and families addresses in my Minted address book so all I have to do is click “Select All” and our envelopes arrive addressed and ready to go.

I am so excited to start checking the mail and fill our wall with photos and cards from those we love the most. This time of year always reminds me of how grateful I am for the people in my life. Blessed for sure.
