July Monthly Momma Challenge: 31 Days Grateful

This past weekend, I was working on an interview and was asked what I loved about motherhood. This question overwhelmed me all weekend. There was so much I loved, yet how could I put it into a concise response? Thinking about it, I realized I spend a lot of time complaining. Another poopy diaper? A sink full of dirty dishes? More tears? But the reality is, the poopy diaper is on a healthy baby. The dishes? They are a sign that we had a full meal to eat. And the crying? It's because he wants to be held close. So this month, I'm challenging myself to change the way I think. Challenging myself to be more positive. Challenging myself to 31 days of gratitude. And I'm challenging you too.

When is the last time you told your best friend thank-you? When is the last time you said aloud that you were grateful for your health? When is the last time you did a celebratory dance that the laundry was put away? Being thankful for the blessings we have in our lives can make a world of difference. So here is the challenge for July --- 31 Days of Gratitude. Let's share what we are thankful for, whether big or small each day of July.

A Couple of Ways You Can Participate:

  • Post a daily picture on Instagram of what you are grateful for with the hashtag #monthlymommachallenge
  • Grab a notebook and start a gratitude journal. Each night, jot down one thing you are grateful for.
  • Download a gratitude app (like Get Gratitude) and set daily push reminders to keep track of all there is to be thankful for.

And as a little treat for you:

I've created a fun little printable to tape somewhere you will see it daily. Mine's going on the bathroom mirror. Thanks Angie Makes for the awesome background!

Are you in?

So who's up for the challenge? Leave a comment letting me know you will be joining me on 31 days of gratitude.
