A Day In The Life of Caitlyn Waite

There are few people in the world as genuine as Caitlyn Waite. Maybe it's her sweet Southern demeanor, or the big smile that always sits on her face, or perhaps it's the beauty that oozes from everything she touches. Balancing life with one-year old Sarah Lynn, a thriving Etsy shop, all while renovating a home, working with design clients, and helping with the family-owned dry cleaner -- this momma makes it look easy. Today, I'm thrilled to share a peek into Caitlyn's life in Mobile, Alabama.

The Daily Grind

6:30 am I wake up to the sound of Sarah Lynn playing in her crib and check out the time hoping that it is at least past 7… Nope… I get up and dressed because she plays in her crib for a good 20 minutes before she starts yelling “MAMA” at the door.  I leave her in her jammies because its so cute watching her run around in her diaper and night shirt.

7:00 am Get Sarah Lynn some milk and then put her in her high chair with some cheerios to keep her entertained while I make my coffee… She feeds most of said cheerios to our rescue dog Bo Jackson (insert War Eagle here). Then give Sarah Lynn some homemade oatmeal, peanut butter, and banana cookies I made for her the day before.  She plays and we watch the first part of The Today Show before I have to get her dressed and out the door!

8:30 am Get to a design client's home to be there for two chandelier installs.  Sarah Lynn is fascinated with the tall ladder they bring in for the chandelier in the living room. They have really tall vaulted ceilings.. It is going to be GORG when we are done with everything!

9:45 am Leave my client's home and head straight to the doctor’s office for Sarah Lynn’s one year check-up… I try to convince myself the whole ride to the office that I do not have a one year old… Sarah Lynn is napping in her carseat

10:30 am Still waiting in waiting room… Praise the Lord Sarah Lynn is still napping.

11:00 am Moved to a small extremely purple room still waiting to see the doctor. Sarah Lynn is awake and in her diaper only (as they make you do at the doctor's office). As a glorified germaphob.. I won’t put her down so I am holding her and bouncing her and singing her Sam Hunt “House Party” (her current fav)…

11:15 am Still waiting in creepy purple room about to pull my hair out… I give her a banana and an apple sauce pouch to pass time.  The power of Sam Hunt isn’t working on her any longer and she starts getting EXTREMELY FUSSY…

11:30 am Doctor is in and out and we are free to go! HALLELUJAH! All is well and little miss priss is healthy and smart according to the doctor…

11:50 am Run back over to clients house to check on chandelier… It looks amazing and the clients are very happy! Time to head home and eat!

12:00 pm We are home and scarfing down chicken salad, fruit, and pita for lunch before we have to head out the door again.

1:00 pm Meet up at a friend's house to help decorate for a baby shower that I am co-hosting.  We talk about last minute details while Sarah Lynn does her “woof woof” noise at all their dogs…

2:00 pm We get back in the car and head home… I talk to her and sing to her the whole way home to try to keep her from falling asleep in the car seat so that she will take a nap in her crib at home.

2:45 pm She is napping in her room and I am working on a custom house doodle for an etsy customer and doing a load of laundry.

3:50 pm Sarah Lynn wakes up and is ready to play again… I give her some more milk and we play and read!

5:00 pm Wait by the window for DaDa to get home… He is not only currently her favorite word, but her favorite person… Ill let him have his time… I know I am going to rally during her manicure, pedicure, shopping phase. #chargeittodaddy

5:30 pm Walk with Daddy and Mommy around the neighborhood in her new birthday car.  Clifford and I really enjoy this time because we get to talk about our day and she is in a controlled environment where she isn’t going to potentially hurt herself or get in to the dog bowls for the 50th time in a day.

6:00 pm Heat up some taco shells in the toaster oven and reheat some taco meat leftovers… ONLY marry a man if he is ok with eating leftovers every so often... ok.. at least once (insert twice) a week.

7:00 pm Bath time, lotion time, pjs, books, bottle, prayers and night night song…

7:30 pm Clifford and I hang out before he goes to bed… He falls asleep SO EARLY…

8:00 pm I workout, put in another load of laundry, then work on a custom canvas for a customer.   I will be offering them soon in my shop. Shower and get ready for bed.

10:30 pm Check the baby monitor a million times and drift off to sleep.
