A Modern Mom's Guide to Fall Fashion: Toddler and Baby Boy Edition

Fall is almost here which means it’s time to switch Brody from overalls and no shirt to overalls and a button down (check my Instagram to see what I’m talking about - this boy is the shirtless wonder)! I love dressing my kids for cooler weather and now that we’re in South Carolina, I feel like Brody will actually get to enjoy wearing his fall clothes. There are so many stylish and trendy pieces for boys this year, I’m having a hard time narrowing down my favorites!

I’m loving all things navy and hunter this season, but I also tried to mix in a few brighter pieces as well. Also, most of these items can be matched almost exactly in the older boys and mens’ sections, in case you’re already planning your holiday outfits and photos!

one: Piper & Finn | Geometic Oxfords | Brody has these and we love them! They're also a great option for pre-walkers and new walkers since they're soft and flexible. -- sold out, but these are by the same brand!

two: Joe Fresh | Snow Boots | Nothing cuter than duck boots in miniature form. The velcro is great for easy on and off and the fur lining will keep those little feet warm until spring.

three: H&M | Newsboy Style Cap | The perfect accessory for those cool, fall days without the bulk of a winter hat.

four: H&M | Bib Overalls | Overalls are our jam! In the cooler weather they look cute with a white or black shirt layered underneath and I love the corduroy fabric for fall.

five: H&M | Padded Parka | I love picking out gender neutral pieces that Brody can pass down to Isla! It comes in khaki, navy and olive and the faux fur trim makes it so cozy.

six: Hope & Henry | Gingham Shirt | A classic print in a great color for Fall. This button down is great for layering and you can pair it with a vest, pullover sweater, or under a long-sleeve tee.

seven: Zara | Plaid Scarf | Who says accessories are just for girls? This little plaid scarf is the perfect pop of print.

eight: Joe Fresh | Striped Tee | There's nothing more classic than a striped tee. This one comes in a few color options and it works great with overalls, jeans, and chino pants!

nine: Nordstrom | Puffer Vest | With our South Carolina weather, vests are staples. IIt's the perfect layer for early fall when it isn't quite cold enough for a jacket. I love the classic look of this vest and it goes with everything!

ten: Hunter | Rain Boots | No exaggeration--Brody wears these every single day. We have a red and blue pair. I am eyeing the green pair to match his fall wardrobe!

eleven: Old Navy | Quilted Vest | I love the sophistication of the quilted detailing and it has a more polished look than the puffer vest for dressier events.

twelve: Hope & Henry | Chino Pants | I love that these chino pants are on the skinnier side. Nothing cuter than little boys in slim-fitting pants. They come in navy, khaki and olive so you're set for any occasion.

thirteen: Hope & Henry | Plaid Shirt | The plaid print on this shirt reminds me of the holidays. Perfect for Christmas pictures of holiday parties. This is also a great piece for boys and girls, so you can grab matching shirts for all the kids.

fourteen: H&M | Knit Sweater | I am dying over how adorable this sweater is! A perfect piece to mix in to a fall wardrobe and I love that there's a button on the neck to make it easier to take on and off. You've never seen anyone madder than a toddler who's head is stuck in a sweater.

fifteen: Hope & Henry | Elbow Patch Cardigan | I think the worst part about shopping for my kids is finding something that I want for myself! From the elbow patches to the detailing, I love everything about this cardigan.

sixteen: H&M | Jeans with Suspenders | These jeans come in three washes (light, medium, and dark) and the suspenders are removeable! This is a great option for little guys that need a bigger size in pants to accomodate their height, but aren't filling them out in the middle.

seventeen: H&M | Denim Shirt | I love denim clothing because they easily transition from one season to the next and this shirt is no exception. A perfect option to pair with chino pants and a vest!

eighteen: Target | Knit Socks | Now that sandal season has passed (did Brody wear sandals even once this summer?), it's time for us to stock up on socks. I love this option because they're cozy and hide dirt easily.

Where are you shopping for fall clothes for your little guy? Any spots that have a great selection that I missed? Leave me a comment and let me know!
